Emma + David. The Rye, Montreal wedding.

Emma and David’s wedding was my first experience shooting at The Rye in La Salle, Montreal and it did not disappoint, I love the industrial feel with those exposed brick walls, intimidating at first but great for an editorial photography style.

Celia from The Wedding Mill was the creative mastermind behind the stunning ambiance at The Rye. With her expert eye for design, she perfectly married the industrial vibes of the venue with a soft touch of nature and coziness

When I met Emma and David, I immediately knew how much fun we were going to have. We tried to flow without feeling like we were doing a photoshoot.  Documentary and editorial photography work are some of my favorite things to do so I was incredibly excited to craft their story.

Oh, and those intelligent and incredibly funny speeches from their family and friends were just brilliant. This wonderful crew made this task effortless.

Meanings.

Believe me, I’ve seen a lot throughout my career as a wedding photographer. What I witnessed this rainy day of September, was beyond my understanding. What I felt, put me on my knees and made my cry. This was one of the most valuable lessons life has taught me, It made me believe in love in a deeper, more pure way. Lauren and Sebastien showed m, in the most beautiful way, how much my beloved family was missing from me. Thank you, thank you…

From Newfoundland to rock and love.

Yvette + Kyle. Casa Cariño. SMA. San Miguel de Allende wedding photographer.

There is something magical about weddings in San Miguel de Allende, of course the culture, the vibe, the colours, the music but there is something intangible in them. I truly believe that couples who choose SMA to get married are sensible, cultural people who want to live the most true, deep and authentic experience. And I love this kind of people.

San Miguel Weddings  by Alicia Vilar, created all this amazing atmosphere in Casa Cariño, one of the greatest and most intimate wedding venues in San Miguel de Allende and in Mexico for sure.

Yvette and Kyle have an amazing story behind. Her son and daughter were the salt and pepper of this amazing day and the four of them celebrated love in a very unique way.

I want to thank Chio Garcia who second shot with me and put all her talent, heart and soul in every photo(as usual). I also want to say that this wedding was vey special for me because my sister Nirvana came from California to rock with me 14 hours straight getting some great shots too.
